Actual rate depends on subject, SL vs HL, your qualifications and experience (ex-IB teacher / current examiner / subject specialist), and lesson format. HL Sciences, HL Maths AA and full EE mentoring sit at the upper end.

The role
What you will do
- Plan and deliver 1-to-1 or small-group IB SL/HL lessons across your subjects in Group 1-6: commonly Maths AA/AI, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Lang & Lit, Economics, Business Management, History or a Group 2 language.
- Guide students through Internal Assessment (IA) tasks step by step (research question, methodology, analysis and evaluation) strictly to the published IBO criteria.
- Mentor the Extended Essay (EE): help students scope a 4,000-word question, manage their reflections and reach a confident final draft.
- Build TOK awareness into lessons where it strengthens subject understanding, and drill IB Paper 1/2/3 exam technique with timed past-paper practice.
- Share regular, honest progress updates with parents: predicted grades, IA/EE milestones and next steps before each report cycle.
Who we are looking for
- A relevant degree in your IB subject area (Sciences, Mathematics, Languages, Economics, Humanities or Business).
- Prior IB DP teaching or examining experience is strongly preferred, international school staff and ex-IB examiners earn at the top of the range.
- Thorough understanding of IB DP assessment criteria and the IA/EE/TOK requirements published by the IBO.
- Confidence with at least one SL or HL subject; HL specialists in Maths AA, Physics, Chemistry or Economics are in highest demand.
- At least 1 year of teaching experience: classroom, international school or serious DP tutoring.
- Based in Malaysia and eligible to work here, reliable and genuinely good with sixth-form students.
