The weekly hour — pad, groove, then repertoire

First contact with rhythm and percussion, usually through SK / SJK class music and clap-along games, an early call for primary-school drumline recruits, or a hand-percussion and kompang moment at a family majlis. Hold off on buying a kit at this stage, since all the family really needs is to confirm the rhythmic interest is real before spending.

Year 4-6 (first kit + Debut / Initial grade)
The family commits to a first kit, and for the 95% of MY households living in apartments that means a Roland V-Drums TD-02 (RM 2,500-3,500) or Yamaha DTX402 (RM 2,000-2,800) with headphones.
